CAROLINE GEYS, Belgian-born and native to Miami, is now a local artist based in downtown, Los Angeles. As a multimedia artist she alternates between painting, drawing, graphic design, installation, sculpture and apparel. Her work is consistently inspired by colorful urban landscapes and animal imagery. Several dimensions of her childhood and early adulthood are reoccurring themes that compose the infusion amongst the cityscapes and animal conformations.

Since her work stretches into various media’s she believes her thinking does too, fueling a velocity of ideas from one medium to another yielding one consistent factor, color. Caroline experiments with color palettes in all of her series; it is a part of her expression, throughout life’s paradigms, exploring the metamorphosis within the context of my life as a visual artist.

Caroline’s LA exhibitions have included The Standard, Hollywood – Ann 300 Gallery in 2012 and at the SSNS 001 / Cosmic Sessions – The Standard, Downtown LA in 2013.

Caroline will be exhibiting new work at BORN MODERN, physical vs digital. Through the point of view of 21 featured artists, the exhibition explores how technology affects our sense of self. The event takes place on Thursday, April 24th from 7pm – 11pm, event details can be found here: BORN MODERN.
