About Futra
Futra is a multimedia experience brand that makes the connection between genres, art, and design. Based in the burgeoning music scene that is Los Angeles, Futra dares to form an identity of its own rather than follow the lead of others. It invites artists of all walks of life; visual, graphic, installation, performers, in addition to musicians to find harmony with one another. With a record label as the foundation, Futra will become a symbol for creativity and inspiration.
Futra is the latest in a line of projects from Tara LaPlante. A one time owner of an art gallery in Minneapolis, Tara was a founding member of the Timefog record label. Home to many techno artists such as Jon Hester, Mike Gervais, James Patrick, Dustin Zahn, and DVS1 the label went on to work with producers such as Barem, Tim Xavier, Drumcell, Raiz, Audio Injection, Someone Else, and Bruno Pronsato.
Tara’s relocation to Los Angeles formed a change in her vision. The cross pollination of bass music and traditional dance culture became the source of inspiration to create a new community within the city. This is where the story of Futra begins…
